Sable + Sand ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how we protect it.
What we collect
Analytics
We use two analytics services. Cloudflare Web Analytics measures aggregate page views and referral sources at the edge. It is cookieless, does not track individuals, and collects no personal data. Microsoft Clarity records anonymised session replays and heatmaps so we can see where readers get stuck and improve the site. Clarity uses cookies and a session identifier, processes data on Microsoft's infrastructure, and automatically masks sensitive content (form inputs, payment fields, anything marked private) before recording. We use Clarity solely to improve site usability, never to identify individual readers and never to sell data. To opt out of Clarity, enable "Do Not Track" in your browser, or contact us at [email protected] to request your session data be deleted.
Email subscriptions
If you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address through our email service provider. We use your email solely to send you the content you signed up for. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in every email.
Affiliate links
When you click an affiliate link, the destination retailer (e.g., Amazon, iHerb) may set their own cookies to track the referral. These cookies are governed by the respective retailer's privacy policy, not ours. We do not receive personally identifiable information from affiliate partners, only aggregate sales data.
What we don't collect
We do not use Google Analytics. We do not serve display advertising or use ad trackers. We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties. We do not collect payment information, all purchases happen on third party retailer sites.
Cookies
Cloudflare Web Analytics is cookieless. Microsoft Clarity sets first party cookies (names beginning _clck and _clsk) lasting up to 12 months to maintain an anonymous session identifier so we can stitch together a single reader's behaviour across pages. If you subscribe to our newsletter, our email provider may set a functional cookie for form submission. Affiliate partner sites set their own cookies when you visit them, please refer to their individual privacy policies.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, you have the right to access any personal data we hold about you, request correction or deletion of that data, withdraw consent at any time, and lodge a complaint with the ICO (ico.org.uk) if you believe your rights have been violated. Sable + Sand does not knowingly collect data from anyone under the age of 16. Our content is written for adults. We may update this policy occasionally, the date below reflects the most recent revision.
