Affiliate Disclosure

Sable & Sand is a reader-supported wellness publication. Some of the links in our essays are affiliate links, which means we may earn a small commission if you click through and make a purchase — at no additional cost to you.

How it works

When we recommend a product — a collagen supplement, a probiotic, a magnesium — we include a link to where you can buy it. If you purchase through that link, the retailer or brand pays us a small referral fee. This is standard practice across editorial publishing and is governed by consumer protection regulations.

You never pay more. The price you pay is identical whether you use our link or go directly to the retailer. The commission comes from the retailer's marketing budget, not your wallet.

Our promise to you

Affiliate income does not influence our editorial decisions. Full stop. Here's what that means in practice:

  • We choose which products to feature based on quality, evidence, and personal experience — not commission rates
  • We regularly recommend products that earn us nothing (or very little) because they're genuinely the best option
  • We will never recommend a product we wouldn't use ourselves or confidently suggest to a close friend
  • If a product disappoints us, we say so — even if we have an affiliate relationship with the brand
  • Every essay that contains affiliate links includes a disclosure notice at the bottom

Why we use affiliate links

Running a publication costs money — hosting, research tools, design, and the hundreds of hours that go into writing thorough, well-sourced essays. Affiliate commissions are the primary way Sable & Sand sustains itself. Without them, the content wouldn't exist.

We chose affiliate marketing over advertising because it aligns our incentives with yours: we only earn when we recommend something genuinely useful, and you only pay if you decide to buy.
